Jacqui-Maree Bailey

Growing up with the Great Barrier Reef in my backyard and no surfable swell, I didn’t start surfing til my adult years - lots of dodging crocs, reef sharks and Irukandji jellyfish, or waterskiing on the lake instead. On land I competed in gymnastics, sprints and long distance running. I was obsessed with anatomy and physiology and everything human movement, so it seems fitting I ended up working with athletes (including AFL, Womens AFL and VFL and pro surfers), as well as everyday active people to overcome pain, injury and blocks to recover better, move well and do what they love for longer.

Surfing is so unique - it’s an incredibly challenging sport that moves us through multiple planes and throws in so many variables fast. So it can really show us where we’re blocked physically and mentally, and also invite us to connect more deeply emotionally and spiritually if we choose to - with ourselves, the beauty and intensity of the ocean, our surf community, and the incredible natural world around us. The feeling of freedom that comes when we drop into the moment and experience all of this at once is unsurpassable.

When I moved to Northern NSW, Australia, I had a very different surf-able coast in my new back yard. And through doing what I love, teaching the way I teach and treating the way I treat, I started to meet and work with more and more surfers from the Gold Coast, Tweet Coast and Byron Bay areas in Australia, and then more athletes and surfers from Florida, Hawaii and around the world. They love how what I do supports them to move more freely, feel more connected in body and mind, recover faster to surf again sooner, and feel able to surf for longer.

I’m here to help you overcome pain, injury, restriction or blocks in your performance and motivation, while empowering you to move in new ways and grow your surfing through movement, meditation and mindset education and self-development.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Jacq
